The contract that left the building

A comic. The story is made up, the rule is real.

One story about how a company document leaves the company. Rūta is made up. The rule is not.

Rūta sits at her desk on Monday morning, a message glowing on the laptop screen. The caption reads "Monday. 08:40." A bubble from the screen: "Rūta, quick one before 10: what matters most in that contract?"
Rūta holds up a thick stack of contract pages with both hands and raises her eyebrows. Thought bubble: "Forty pages of contract. And the answer is due by ten."
Rūta glances at a second monitor where an empty chat window is glowing. Thought bubble: "If I pasted the whole text into ChatGPT, I would have the answer in two minutes."
Rūta presses a key and the contract pages fly off the desk in an arc, straight into the glowing chat window on the monitor. The caption reads "Ctrl+V. The whole contract, client name and sums included."
A colleague at the next desk leans over toward Rūta's screen and asks: "Is that the client's contract? Into your own personal ChatGPT account?"
Close-up of Rūta's face: wide eyes behind round glasses, a hand at her chin. Thought bubble: "Is there a person in this text who can be identified? Did I sign that I would not show this to anyone? Are there any passwords or keys in it?"
Rūta presses a trash button on the screen while several sheets drift away through the open office window. The caption reads "She deleted the chat. The text had already been sent to another company's servers."
Rūta covers parts of the document with solid colour blocks using a marker and says: "The structure can be pasted. The client's names and sums cannot."
Rūta hands one sheet to her manager. The manager: "Great. How did you do that so fast?" Rūta: "From AI. But I took out the client's name and the sums first."
A sheet with three empty checkboxes pinned to an office wall, a side table with a plant and a coffee cup beneath it, and Rūta walking off to the right with a laptop under her arm. The caption reads "Before you paste, ask: is there personal data in here? did I sign that I would not show it? are there any passwords? If even one answer is yes, change it first, then paste."

Why those three questions are the ones, what separates a personal account from a company one, and what happens to deleted chats: What not to paste into ChatGPT.
